Scintillating Sulawesi

You can fly to Makassar, also known as Ujung Pandang or Manado, from Jakarta and Bali as well as directly from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

From the busy port of Makassar you head north towards Sulawesi’s centre and visit Tana Toraja with some of the most unusual and eccentric groups of people in Southeast Asia. Spend time in the villages around Rante Pao and learn about their unique and interesting funeral rituals or undertake some wonderful walks in the beautiful countryside before returning back to Makassar.

Crossing over the equator you travel to the far north of Sulawesi and to the city of Manado. From here journey to the Tangkoko Nature Reserve to meet the smallest primates in the world together with hornbills, couscous and flying lizards. Your Sulawesi tour ends amongst the tropical Islands of Bunaken with their volcano’s, underwater wonders and relaxed turquoise bays.
