Our South Vietnam and Phu Quoc island discovery tour starts in the deep south and Vietnam’s upbeat former capital of Saigon, officially known as Ho Chi Minh. Enjoy this bustling ever-changing youthful city with its amazing markets and neon nightlife before you head for the traditional experience of the Mekong Delta. Once here you spend two days on the water, where you will discover fascinating stilted houses, floating morning markets and stunning rural countryside, as well as getting acquainted with the local way of life and traditional practices that go back generations.
Leaving the mainland behind you travel by boat out to the former Cambodian ruled island of Phu Quoc. The island has a unique and different feel to it unlike anywhere else in Vietnam, and it is the perfect end to a holiday, where visitors get to explore a little of what Vietnam has to offer, but without overdoing it. So if you are looking to escape from your hectic work schedule, then kick off your shoes, sit back in that deck chair, enjoy the beachside cocktail service and get to experience the jet setters way of life for a few days.
Phu Quoc really is that island paradise that so many of us look for. As if you do feel energetic enough to venture outside your gorgeous seaside abode, then you will experience even more stunning coconut palms lining the squeaky clean white beaches wherever you go on the island. Alternatively, you could enjoy your time in the warm turquoise and clear waters of the islands and do a spot of snorkelling or shell collecting, but of course, nothing too strenuous, as you enjoy the perfect end to any holiday in Vietnam.

Sightseeing & Scooter Street Food Tour
Today starts with a fabulous introduction to Saigon by visiting some of the city’s most notable sights, such as the War Remnants Museum, the Reunification Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office. In the evening, you will explore a different side of the city on the back of a scooter. On your street food tour, you will get to try various Vietnamese delicacies, listen to live music and witness Saigon’s vibrant nightlife before being returned to your hotel.

Day 3
Ho Chi Minh City
Cu Chi Tunnels by Speedboat
Travel to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels in style in a modern speedboat, while learning about life on the river. You then get to explore this historic war site of the Cu Chi Tunnel and for the more adventurous, you can crawl through the authentic Viet Cong tunnels and try the local cassava root, which the fighters sustained themselves on for years. After enjoying lunch you then return back to the city by speed boat.

Day 4
Can Tho
Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho | Drive: 5 hours
Spend the day cruising through the canals of the Mekong River in the island province of Ben Tre. You will cruise past orchards, rice fields and swamplands and visit a coconut processing workshop and a brick kiln. Next, you will take a scenic Tuk-tuk ride through paddy fields and stop at a local restaurant for lunch. You then continuing onwards to Can Tho, the delta’s biggest city, which will be your home for the night.

Day 5
Phu Quoc Island
Can Tho to Phu Quoc Island | Drive: 2 hours
Rising early today you will explore the Cai Rang floating market; the biggest floating market of the Mekong Delta. Every day hundreds of boats filled with fruits, vegetables and other products anchor along the banks of the river, waiting for traders and customers. Next, you will walk through a local village and a rice husking mill before disembarking at Ninh Kieu quay and transferred back to your hotel for breakfast. You then transfer to the town of Rach Gia to board a speedboat which will take you to the tropical island of Phu Quoc.

Phu Quoc Island
Free Days
You will be free for five days on stunning Phu Quoc Island – an idyllic island adorned with pristine white sandy beaches and beautiful aqua blue water. Apart from taking the tie to explore the island and the beaches, we recommend you hop on a chartered boat and cruise through the incredible An Thoi Islands, which lie to the south of the island.

Ho Chi Minh City
Phuc Quoc Island to Ho Chi Minh City & Departure | Flight: 1 hour
You will be free today in Phu Quoc Island until being transferred to the airport by your resort’s shuttle bus for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. You will arrive in good time to connect with your departing flight home from Ho Chi Minh City.
