Detailed Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Siem Reap to Kratie
Today you depart Siem Reap in the early morning and begin the journey to a riverside town of Kratie. You will reach the bustling provincial city of Kompong Cham, where you stop for lunch on the river front. After lunch you continue your journey passing through the old river port of Chhlong, home to some of the best examples of French colonial architecture in the country.
Continuing on you will pass many local villages until you reach the riverside town of Kratie, a sleepy Mekong port and gateway to an encounter with the rare freshwater Irrawaddy dolphins. Once in Kratie you are free to explore the town and the local market as you wish; before enjoying a magnificent sunset over the river, if you’re staying on the mainland, or you will take a short boat trip to Koh Trong Island, if you want to experience more rural life.

After enjoying lunch by a river, you have the amazing opportunity to swim and help wash your elephant before returning home.
The Elephant Sanctuary
This is essentially a conservation project, where rescued Cambodian elephants live. On your day with the elephants you will follow the herd and learn all about their mannerisms and connect with them. You can also feed them bananas and help hosing them down and giving them a bath.
